Setting up for development

After installing DesktopSqlCe you have all the source project files ready to compile but before you execute the samples, you will need to perform one additional setup steps.

Device Installation

If you are targetting a Windows CE or Windows Mobile device, please run the Device Installer from the Start Menu under the Primeworks / DesktopSqlCe / Device Installer submenu. Connect the device to your PC via ActiveSync or WMDC in Vista. Click the appropriate Operating System and CPU menu to launch the installer.

Desktop Installation

There is no additional installation step for the desktop - the setup copies the dssce.dll and LocSqlCe.dll files to the System directory. Note: If your setup did not install these files, you may be using a faulty version. Please uninstall DesktopSqlCe, download a new installer file and install it.
