Installation

DesktopSqlCe is distributed as a Microsoft installer packaged as either a ZIP file or self-extracting EXE file. The following instructions describe how to install DesktopSqlCe on a development PC:

Install Using the ZIP file

1. Download the ZIP file from the Downloads Page to a temporary directory on the development PC.
2. Extract all the files from the ZIP.
3. Run the Setup.exe file.

Install Using the EXE file

1. Download the EXE file from the Downloads Page to a temporary directory on the development PC.
2. Execute the EXE file.

After installing DesktopSqlCe you should be able to start coding right away. To understand the product's capabilities, open the included C# and VB samples (Visual Studio 2005 solution files).
