HOWTO: Create a database
To create a SQL Compact Edition database in Data Port Console, follow these steps:

  1. Select the server node and right-click it. Select the "New Database" option.

  2. Select the name of the new database (dialog will be different for remote databases):

  3. Optionally set a password and encryption:

  4. After creating the database, you can assign a shortcut to it. Open the properties pane and set the "Shortcut" property to a name you choose and set the "UseShortcut" property to "Yes". The Data Explorer window will now display your database with the shortcut name.
