This minor upgrade implements the following new features:

  • The Query view now displays the schema rowsets in both ADO .NET and OLE DB format.
  • Database statistics are now available for SQL Compact 3.0 and 3.5 databases.
  • A new server explorer is available to perform very basic file management on the remote server (device).
  • The connection now allows you to configure data compression.
  • The installed OLE DB providers are now reported on the connection properties pane.

The following problems were solved:

  • A transaction is not closed when an error occurs during data transfer between SQL Compact databases.
  • SQL Compact synchronization tables (__sys*) are not displayed in the database transfer wizard.
  • A System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException was thrown when adding columns to a table in the diagram view.
  • A duplicate row was shown at the end of a browse table view.
  • Query performance has been improved when downloading data in bulk.
 

NOTE: This version introduces the new Data Port Server 1.55 component. After installing this version, the first time you connect to a device you will need to install this new version of the component (you will be prompted to do so). You don't have to uninstall the old 1.54 version as both versions work side-by-side without conflicts. This is very important when using different versions of our products.
